Christianity in Japan

Christianity was introduced in Japan on 1549 by Francisco de Xavier, the missionary from Spain.

It was spread in Japan rapidly.

The government who was anxious about the foreign countries to seize the power in Japan, suddenly decided to exclude the foreigners. 

Christianity was also excluded. 

The people hid themselves in isolated places, and continued their faith to Christianity without anyone knowing.

For more than 250 years! 

Japanese Christianity, it is called Christan, was developed their originality.
